How do I set up the VisaSlotWatch Chrome extension?

Why does VisaSlotWatch still say monitoring inactive?

Monitoring usually stays inactive when one required setup signal is missing. Use Chrome or another Chromium browser with the extension installed, sign in to AIS in the same browser profile, make sure Auto-Detect Now finds your schedule ID and at least one embassy, turn monitoring on, save your embassy and date range, allow browser notifications, and verify connected email, Telegram, or Slack alert channels with a test notification.

Do you need my AIS login credentials for US visa monitoring?

No, not by default. VisaSlotWatch works within your existing browser session. You can optionally enable local session recovery, and those credentials stay encrypted on your device and are never sent to our servers.

How does session recovery work?

Session recovery is optional on Starter and Power. If enabled, local auto-login is used only when your AIS session expires so monitoring can continue. Credentials stay encrypted on your device and are never sent to our servers.

How does auto-rescheduling work?

Guarded auto-rescheduling is available on the Power plan. When enabled, VisaSlotWatch checks your selected embassies in your chosen priority order and can book the first eligible earlier appointment within your configured date window. It runs only in your browser session, pauses after success, and can pause after failures that require your attention.

Is this compliant with the US visa website terms?

VisaSlotWatch runs through your own browser session and monitors publicly accessible US visa appointment availability. Power users can optionally enable guarded auto-rescheduling for eligible earlier dates, but we do not bypass security measures or move credentials to our servers. Users remain responsible for reviewing the visa portal's terms of service.

How fast are the US visa appointment alerts?

Alerts are sent instantly when new US visa slots are detected. Check frequency depends on your plan: Free tier checks every 2 hours, while Power checks as fast as every 3 minutes for maximum responsiveness.

Does it work for my country?

If your country uses the AIS scheduling portal (ais.usvisa-info.com), it is supported. This includes 50+ countries: Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, UK, Peru, and many more across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Central Asia.

This release is a reliability update focused on session recovery and Power plan auto-rescheduling.

What improved in v1.4.8

1) More reliable session recovery

For Starter and Power plan users, v1.4.8 improves how the extension recovers when the AIS portal asks you to sign in again. Monitoring should now resume with fewer interruptions and fewer instances of needing to sign back in manually.

2) Fewer sign-in interruptions

When the AIS portal rotates your session, v1.4.8 handles the transition more smoothly. This means fewer monitoring pauses and less chance of your extension stopping because of a session refresh the previous version struggled to complete.

3) More reliable Power plan auto-rescheduling

If you are on a Power plan and use guarded auto-rescheduling, v1.4.8 reduces avoidable failures during session renewal. The auto-reschedule flow now recovers more consistently when your session needs to be refreshed mid-operation.

Do you need to update manually?

In most cases, no. Chrome should auto-update the extension to v1.4.8 automatically.

If you want to update immediately, reinstall from the Chrome Web Store.

After updating, we recommend opening the extension popup once to confirm your monitoring settings are still enabled.
